Sri Lanka set Afghanistan 254 to win in Asia Cup

Led by Kumar Sangakkara, Sri Lanka set Afghanistan a victory target of 254 to win their Asia Cup match.

Sri Lanka have scored 253 runs in their 50 overs against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup.

Opening batsman Lahiru Thirimanne was the only Sri Lanka player not to score in double figures as he was bowled out by Shapoor Zadran in the sixth over for five.

That brought captain Kumar Sangakkara to the crease and he went on to score 76 runs in Dhaka before he was run out by Mohammad Nabi.

Sangakkara hit one of two Sri Lankan sixes before the confusion in the 38th over.

Angelo Mathews (45*) and Thisara Perera (19*) saw them past 250 before the 50-over limit was reached.
