James Anderson has been ruled out of England's one-day tour to Sri Lanka through injury.
The fast bowler has a knee problem but hopes to fit in time for the tri-series against Australia and India in January before the World Cup begins in February.
The 32-year-old will travel to South Africa with the England Performance Programme in December for rehabilitation.
The England and Wales Cricket board released a statement saying: "Anderson experienced some knee discomfort during the summer and in preparation for the ICC Cricket World Cup will undergo a graded return to bowling programme over the next two months."
England will play seven one-day games in Sri Lanka, with the first on November 26.
