Pakistan in control against New Zealand at lunch

Pakistan are in a comfortable position at lunch in the first Test against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi as they reach 85-0.

Mohammad Hafeez and Ahmed Shehzad have taken Pakistan to 85-0 at lunch on day one of the first Test against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi.

Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and elected to bat first, with the opening pair taking them to 16-0 after just four overs.

The run-rate soon slowed though, as they moved to 37 without loss after 17 overs.

The Kiwis then missed a glorious stumping opportunity as Shehzad chased a teasing Mark Craig delivery, but Bradley-John Watling couldn't gather the ball.

A relieved Shehzad and his partner Hafeez continued to bat sensibly to put Pakistan in a solid position at lunch.
