The England and Wales Cricket Board has confirmed that Nottinghamshire spinner Graeme Swann has received a disciplinary penalty for his actions during his county's County Championship match against Durham.
Umpires Steve Garratt and Peter Willey reported Swann for a Level Two breach of the ECB disciplinary code, which amounts to "showing serious dissent at an umpire's decision by word or action".
An ECB statement said: "The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today confirmed that Graeme Swann has received a penalty under the ECB's discipline code.
"The penalty for this offence is three penalty points which will remain on his record for a period of two years."
Nine or more penalty points in the space of two years would result in Swann facing a suspension.
