Eoin Morgan has claimed that he must take the opportunity over the next few weeks to score runs as he looks to earn a recall to the England Test squad.
The 27-year-old played the last of his 16 Tests against Pakistan in February 2012, but he believes that an extended run of good form for Middlesex in the County Championship could catch the eye of the selectors.
"There's five games now in six weeks and to play continuous Championship cricket without any Twenty20 or one-day cricket in between is great," Morgan told Sky Sports News.
"There's some great continuity in it and certainly if I find if I can get some runs in that period and put myself in some form maybe I'm in with a shout.
"If I was to get back in, certainly my role has always been in the middle order. It's getting myself in and allowing myself to express myself and ultimately scoring a weight of runs."
Morgan has scored two hundreds and three half-centuries in Test cricket.
