Freddie Flintoff has been appointed to the Lancashire CCC board, the club has announced today.
The 39-year-old, who made almost 250 appearances for the side during his playing career, will now work with the club on a new project called the Lancashire Cricket Foundation, which will aim to boost the sport's profile in the area over the coming years.
"I am hugely honoured to have been asked to join the board and even more delighted to accept," said Flintoff in a statement.
"I have talked to the chairman about the future and what the club and the new Lancashire Cricket Foundation wish to achieve, and it is a hugely exciting time for the game of cricket in Lancashire, and one that I am proud to be part of and contribute to."
Lancashire have also announced the signings of two players from Durham - bowler Graham Onions and opening batsman Keaton Jennings - on two and four-year deals respectively.
