A record-breaking century from Brendon McCullum has helped New Zealand dominate day two of the third and final test match against Pakistan.
After yesterday's play was postponed due to the death of Australian cricketer Phil Hughes, play resumed on Friday with the tourists bowling Pakistan all out for 351.
New Zealand's reply started with a 51-run opening partnership before Tom Latham departed for 13, but that gave McCullum and Kane Williamson the chance to combine to pull the contest back in their favour.
McCullum took control after the lunch interval, blasting 13 fours and fives sixes on the way to his century in just 78 balls - the fastest ever recorded in a Test match by a New Zealand batsman - while Williamson contributed 44 to move his team to 164-1 at tea.
The final session saw McCullum continue to score at a rapid pace and by the end of the day, he had reached 153 off 145 balls with Williamson remaining at the crease with him on 76.
Bad light brought the action to a premature end but New Zealand will return on Saturday on 249-1, just 102 runs behind Pakistan, who lead the series 1-0.
