Sussex Sharks secure win over Middlesex Panthers

Sussex sharks defeat Middlesex Panthers by 13 runs at Lord's.

Sussex Sharks have defeated Middlesex Panthers by 13 runs at Lord's to top the early T20 Blast league standings.

The partnership of Matt Machan and Luke Wright was first up to the crease for the hosts, but Wright was bowled out for one run on the fourth ball to get the contest off to a shaky start for the Sharks.

Ed Joyce was next up racking up 14 runs before being caught out by Dawid Malan, while Chris Jordan was Sussex's top scorer with 25 runs from 20 balls.

Paul Stirling and Malan were first up for Middlesex, with the latter clocking up 23 runs before being run out.

England international Eoin Morgan smashed 30 from 29, while Ollie Rayner and John Simpson could not do enough to stop the Panthers securing victory.
