Record-breaking Rohit Sharma helps India beat Sri Lanka in fourth ODI

India beat Sri Lanka in the fourth ODI by 153 runs, as Rohit Sharma hits a record-breaking 264 in the first innings.

India's Rohit Sharma hit a record-breaking 264 in their fourth one-day international, helping his side beat Sri Lanka by 153 runs at Kolkata.

Sharma is the first man to hit 250 in an ODI and also becomes the first to record two double centuries in the same match format.

India set the target of 404-5 in the first innings, with Sharma caught at long-off from the final ball.

Sri Lanka got off to the worst possible start as Mathurage Perera was caught after only three balls, going for a duck.

The wickets began to tumble for Sri Lanka before Lahiru Thirimanne and Angelo Mathews could keep some composure and both pass half-centuries.

India's Dhawal Kulkarni did the business on bowling, claiming four wickets in 10 overs towards the end of the innings.

The hosts have now won all four meetings and will be looking to make it a clean sweep when they face the visitors on Sunday.
