England's Stuart Broad: Sachin Tendulkar an "inspiration to everyone"

Stuart Broad believes that Sachin Tendulkar has been an inspirational figure for everyone involved in cricket throughout his career.

England bowler Stuart Broad has described the retiring Sachin Tendulkar as an inspirational figure for everyone involved in cricket.

The Indian batsman will quit the sport after playing his 200th Test match against the West Indies in Mumbai.

"He's a hero and a legend of the game and I was lucky enough to play against him," The Mirror quotes Broad as saying.

"He was an inspiration to everyone and it's sad to see him go because as long as I've been watching cricket he's been on the screen. He can be very proud of what he's given to the game."

Former Australian bowler Shane Warne has also hailed Tendulkar and praised him for how he carried himself off the field.

"Sachin is an amazing player," he said. "We all know about his talent, but that temperament and mindset to play 200 Test matches and to play for such a long period of time shows you the game means so much to him. The way he has gone about it on and off the field has been amazing."

Tendulkar has scored 15,847 runs in his Test career.
