Graeme Swann has called for the England hierarchy to make major changes after the team suffered another disappointment in limited-overs cricket on Tuesday.
A comfortable nine-wicket win for India at Edgbaston secured an unassailable 3-0 lead for the tourists in the five-match one-day international series, and Swann believes that the need for a fresh approach is greater than ever ahead of next year's World Cup.
"If the England management, captain and selectors cannot see there is a burning issue that needs to be changed, then I am worried, angry and sad," the former England spinner revealed on Test Match Special.
"If they start spouting rubbish about 'not executing our plans' then we really should be worried because sanity is not prevailing."
England captain Alastair Cook insisted that he will not be stepping away from the shorter formats of the game following the defeat in Birmingham.
