England and Durham all-rounder Ben Stokes will undergo a scan on a back injury that is currently preventing him from bowling.
It is another setback for the 20-year-old, who missed a large chunk of last season following a finger operation.
"I've got a scan coming up, so I hope that will tell us more. If it stops me from bowling that is going to be a setback," he told Cricinfo.
"I had a couple of stress reactions in my back when I was younger. But this doesn't feel similar, so I hope it's not that bad."
Stokes made five one-day international and two Twenty20 appearances for England last summer and is in the squad to face the West Indies in next week.
