The second Twenty20 international between England and South Africa has been reduced to nine overs per side after rain delayed the start at Old Trafford.

England had earlier won the toss and opted to bowl, but the wet weather came down just as South Africa's opening batsmen were walking to the middle.

Twice the covers briefly came off, and when they were permanently removed from the pitch, the umpires gave the go-ahead for a reduced-overs match.

England, who lost the first fixture of the series by seven wickets on Saturday, have made one change to the XI that played at Chester-le-Street, with Sussex all-rounder Luke Wright replacing the out-of-form Ravi Bopara.
