Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen has lent his support to Ben Stokes following the bowler's costly final over in the World Twenty20 final against West Indies this afternoon.
The Windies needed 19 runs from the final over to win in Calcutta, but Carlos Brathwaite reached the target with two balls to spare after smashing Stokes for four consecutive sixes to clinch the title.
Pietersen gave credit to the match-winning heroics of Brathwaite, but believes that Stokes will bounce back from the disappointment.
Just a hiccup, @benstokes38! Happens to all great players who put their hands up under pressure! You are a STAR! Braithwaite take a bow! 🙌🏼

The victory saw the West Indies become the first side to win the World T20 title twice.
