England captain Eoin Morgan believes that his side's young players will now be able to rise up following their one-day international series experience.
The Three Lions suffered a 49-run loss to Australia at the Ageas Bowl on Monday night, which resulted in the Baggy Greens securing a 2-1 win over five matches.
Despite the defeat, Morgan feels that the involvement will have been hugely beneficial for a number of his side's youngsters.
"We've learnt a lot about guys coming through, especially [Ben] Stokes, [Chris] Jordan and [Boyd] Rankin," Morgan told BBC Sport. "They showed a lot of promise; we've learnt they can step up to the mark."
The two nations meet again in the Ashes in Australia in November.
