Eoin Morgan applauds "cool" finisher Jos Buttler

England captain Eoin Morgan describes Jos Buttler as 'one of the best finishers in the world' after the wicketkeeper secured the hosts victory over Australia.

Captain Eoin Morgan has claimed that Jos Buttler is 'one of the best finishers in the world' after the wicketkeeper guided England to a last-over win over Australia in the one-day international in Cardiff.

The Somerset batsman scored an unbeaten 65 from 48 balls, including 10 off the first three balls of the final over, to see England home for a victory that saw them regain parity in the five-match series.

Buttler, 23, has become known for his lower-order hitting in domestic cricket, and Morgan believes that the youngster's ability under pressure makes him a valuable weapon at international level too.

Morgan told reporters: "Buttler is a very cool guy. He practises so hard at hitting at the death and that's where he comes into his own. He's one of the best in the world at it.

"Today was a great fighting win and Monday will be a final for us. It's a great opportunity to win a series with a young side."

England will meet Australia at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton for the deciding match in the series on September 16.
