Jason Gillespie has agreed that England's current bowling attack ranks up their with Australia's golden generation.
The former pace man took 259 Test wickets during a decorated career with the Aussies, who swept aside all before them with greats such as Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne.
England bowling coach David Saker has set tongues wagging after comparing the two attacks, but Gillespie has now echoed Saker's praise of England's fearsome bowling attack.
However, the 37-year-old has also sent a word of warning to Andy Flower's men.
"That comparison is spot on," Gillespie told The Mirror. "It is always difficult to compare eras, but the England bowling unit is absolutely fantastic and deserve the credit they are getting."
"What we have seen are pretty clinical performances from the England bowlers. The key is performing not just in your home conditions but all over the world and on different surfaces."
Gillespie now coaches at Yorkshire.
