England lose a T20 international to Bangladesh for the second time in the space of a few days, this time by a four-wicket margin in Mirpur.

Bangladesh have recorded a four-wicket victory over England in Mirpur, earning a T20 series victory over the world champions with a match to spare.

Earlier this week, the home side made relatively light work of their more illustrious opponents, heaping the pressure on Jos Buttler and his team heading into Sunday's fixture.

However, England produced one of their worst limited-overs batting performances in recent memory, making just 117 from their 20 overs, and Bangladesh were able to chase down that target with seven balls remaining.

England initially started brightly, making 16 from the opening 14 balls after losing the toss, but the early dismissal of Dawid Malan (5) gave Bangladesh the edge.

Phil Salt (25) and Moeen Ali (15) helped get England past 50, yet wickets fell at regular intervals, including Buttler for just four, and England were indebted to a run-a-ball knock of 28 from Ben Duckett to keep things respectable.

With three overs left, England had made just 100-7, and youngster Rehan Ahmed at least made 11 from as many deliveries down the order to take his team to 117 all out, the final dismissal coming off the last ball.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the star of the show for Bangladesh with the ball, posting figures of 4-12, and he played a key role in guiding Bangladesh to victory with the bat with 20 from 16, hitting his team's only two sixes.

Before that, England had their opponents at 56-3 off 10.2 overs, yet they were again thwarted by another masterful innings from Najmul Hossain Shanto.

An unbeaten 46 from 47 from the left-hander ensured that his team always remained in the ascendancy, defying Jofra Archer's 3-13 from four overs to post a famous win given its significance in terms of the series.
