England captain Alastair Cook: 'There is a lot of work for us to do'

England captain Alastair Cook says that his team have work to do following their 280-run defeat to South Africa in the fourth and final Test in Centurion.

England captain Alastair Cook has claimed that he and his teammates still have plenty of work to do following their fourth-Test defeat to South Africa in Centurion.

The team ended the series with a 2-1 triumph, but the campaign finished on a negative note when they were beaten by 280 runs in the final Test.

The Proteas claimed seven wickets in just over an hour, prompting Cook to analyse his side's batting collapse.

"We didn't get the balance right today," BBC Sport quotes Cook as saying. "Today is a blow and shows how much work we still have to do.

"This is just a blip and incredibly frustrating. For us to be at number one, we do need to start gutsing these out. We need consistency, especially with our fielding.

"I can't really fault the lads too much, because if you'd said we'd win the series 2-1, we'd have taken that. We'll enjoy winning a series away from home."

England were all out for 101 runs in their second innings.
