Ben Stokes has played down comparisons between himself and legendary England all-rounders Andrew Flintoff and Ian Botham.
Stokes made 92 runs in England's emphatic opening Ashes Test victory over Australia and was also part of the bowling attack that has been compared to the class of 2005, when Flintoff was a vital component of England's memorable series win over the Baggy Greens.
However, Stokes insists that he is not looking to follow in anyone else's footsteps and will continue to be his own player.
"I'm Ben Stokes; I'm not Flintoff, or Botham," he told reporters.
"Being an all-rounder, you're probably going to get compared to the Bothams and the Flintoffs - as I have done recently.
"I'm not looking to emulate them. I'm just going to go about my cricket in the way I want to do it."
The second Ashes Test begins on Thursday at Lord's.
