Shane Warne believes that Australia's home advantage will be crucial in the Test series against South Africa this winter.

Shane Warne has insisted that Australia should be regarded as favourites for the upcoming Test series against South Africa.

The Proteas, currently ranked number one in the Test rankings, begin a three-match series with Australia on November 9 in Brisbane and Warne believes that home advantage will be crucial.

"When you're at home, you're expected to win," said the former leg spinner. "There's no real standout side for me. Anyone can beat anyone and when it's at home, I would expect Australia to beat South Africa.

"It will be a great contest - it will be the bowlers who are on display for both teams, they will really test the batsmen's techniques. Young [James] Pattinson is really on fire here at the moment."

South Africa moved to the top of the ICC rankings during the series in England this summer.
