Hot Spot has reportedly been axed for the upcoming Ashes series Down Under between England and Australia.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Australian broadcaster Channel Nine have ditched the technology, which is used to determine if there has been an edge and where.
"It's their decision and that's what's been communicated to us. As far as I'm concerned, it is final," the Herald quotes Hot Spot inventor Warren Brennan as saying.
"We're just moving on with things. Channel Nine have got a new deal with Cricket Australia which I know has cost them a lot more money. I gather there had to be some restructuring of costs."
The first of five Tests between the age-old rivals begins at The Gabba, Brisbane on November 21.
