Australia captain Michael Clarke hints at fitness fears ahead of Ashes

Australia captain Michael Clarke says that he could miss the opening Ashes Test against England in November due to a back injury.

Australia captain Michael Clarke has suggested that he may not be fit for the start of the Ashes series.

The 32-year-old has been marred by an ongoing back problem, which has put him out of the Aussies' one-day international series against India.

According to BBC Sport, when asked if he will be fit for the first Ashes Test against England, Clarke said: "I'll say definitely not [a chance of missing], but at this stage, we can't predict how long it's going to take to get right."

The opening Test of the return series gets underway on November 21.
