Team GB's Rachel Cawthorn finishes sixth in the women's kayak single 500m final.

Team GB's Rachel Cawthorn has finished sixth in the women's kayak single 500m final.

Cawthorn tried to finish strongly but she was too far behind to make an impact as Hungary's Danuta Kozak won gold.

The race began at a frenetic pace but it was Kozak who looked dominant from the outset, with Cawthorn languishing in seventh place.

She remained firmly in control throughout the race to win gold ahead of Ukraine's Inna Osypenko-Radomskai and South Africa's Bridgitte Hartley.
