Kevin Mitchell has lost his third world title attempt against reigning WBC lightweight champion Jorge Linares.
The London boxer sustained a cut above his left eye which was severely swollen and proved crucial in his defeat.
Mitchell began the fight on top, and sent Linares to the floor in the fifth round.
The fight turned in the eighth, though, with Linares drawing blood from Mitchell's nose with a right hook.
He continued to take aim at Mitchell's swollen eye, and eventually sent the challenger to the floor in the 10th round.
