Floyd Mayweather Jr has insisted that he is looking forward to retiring from the sport after his Las Vegas contest with Andre Berto on September 12.
Earlier this year, Mayweather indicated that he would attempt to reach 49 successive wins before hanging up his gloves, and despite speculation that he will take one more bout to try to progress to 50 victories, the pound-for-pound king has reiterated his previous stance on the matter.
The 38-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "Nobody knows what the future holds, but right now, I'm cool and comfortable and having no second thoughts at all about retirement.
"I had a good career, I won every world title, but boxing is wear and tear on the body. It's time to hang 'em up. I'm looking forward to working with some up-and-coming kids, going on walks, and taking vacations.
Opponent Berto enters the WBA Super and WBC welterweight title encounter with a record of 30 triumphs and three defeats.
