British middleweight Matthew Macklin has revealed that he is waiting on a response from Felix Sturm ahead of a potential rematch between the two in Germany later this year.
Sturm earned a split-decision triumph over Macklin in their first bout in 2011, and after the German reclaimed the world title from Darren Barker, Macklin is keen for a second shot at the experienced fighter.
The 31-year-old is quoted by World Boxing News as saying: "We have met all of his demands, yet he still won't move forward with the fight. We have agreed to fight him in his backyard for not much money at all.
"I just want the opportunity to show the world who the better fighter is. I know that I beat him in our first fight and I know that I will beat him again."
Macklin defeated Lamar Russ at the end of 2013 after previously suffering a third-round loss to Gennady Golovkin.
