Amir Khan will defend his light-welterweight titles against Lamont Peterson in Washington on December 10, according to promoter Richard Schaefer.
Golden Boy Promotions said that the Brit will fight the Washington native at an unconfirmed venue.
The fight is expected to be the 24-year-old's last in the division before he moves up a weight, with potential future fights against Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
Khan has won 26 of his 27 professional bouts, while Peterson has been victorious in 29 of his 31 encounters.
