Amir Khan has announced that he will meet former light-welterweight world champion Chris Algieri on May 30.
The British fighter has resisted calls to meet the undefeated Kell Brook in recent months, claiming that he was already in talks with another rival, and he has ended the speculation by revealing that he will take on Algieri in New York.
"You can class him as an A-class opponent," the 28-year-old revealed on his wife's YouTube channel.
"He knows how to box, he knows how to move well. He takes a decent amount of shots and he's got a decent amount of power.
"Hopefully this can lead me onto the bigger fights in the future, which we're all looking at."
Algieri's only defeat in his 21-bout professional career came against Manny Pacquiao in November.
