Anthony Joshua ready for "war" with Charles Martin in the ring

Anthony Joshua says that he will go to "war" with Charles Martin in this Saturday's IBF heavyweight title fight.

Anthony Joshua has described this Saturday's IBF heavyweight title fight with Charles Martin as "war".

The British Olympic champion is preparing to take on his American opponent in the ring at the O2 Arena this weekend.

While Joshua has insisted that he will not change his approach for the southpaw fighter, the 26-year-old has claimed that he will show his "technical ability".

In Thursday's pre-fight press conference, Joshua told reporters: "They know when it comes to these big heavy-hitters we don't play games, we're here to go to war. We've just got two generals in the ring and the best army wins."

When asked if he can control his emotions, Joshua said: "Probably not. I'll probably go out and try to take his head off.

"You know what I'm like, I'm a fighter man. I'm not going to go in there and dance around and try to evade punches. I'm going to walk through two to give him five. That's just how it goes, I'm coming for him, but if I have to show some technical ability as well to defeat Charles Martin, I'll do it, that's what I said."

The Brit has won every one of his 15 bouts by knockout.
