IBF order Frankie Gavin, Timothy Bradley eliminator

The IBF calls for British welterweight Frankie Gavin to face American Timothy Bradley in a final eliminator for the world title currently held by Kell Brook.

British welterweight Frankie Gavin has been provided with the opportunity to fight in a final eliminator for Kell Brook's IBF title.

On Thursday, the governing body called for a fight between Amir Khan and Timothy Bradley, with the winner becoming mandatory challenger for the world title.

However, after Khan rejected the chance to participate in the bout, Gavin has been given the opportunity to take the fight due to being the next ranked fighter in the listings.

The Birmingham boxer is scheduled to face Chris van Heerden at the Barclaycard Arena on May 9, but it remains to be seen whether that bout will go ahead as planned or a showdown with Bradley will take place in the summer.
