Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has paid tribute to Carl Froch by claiming that the four-time world champion "gave everything" when he stepped into the ring.
The 38-year-old, who won WBC, WBA and IBF super-middleweight titles during his career, announced his retirement on Tuesday morning.
On Twitter, Hearn, who worked with Nottingham-born fighter, wrote: "Happy retirement @Carl_Froch - love him or hate him he gave everything for you every time he stepped through those ropes."
Froch, nicknamed 'The Cobra', had 35 fights, which included 33 wins - 24 by knockout - and two defeats.
