Carl Froch thinks that a potential showdown with Bernard Hopkins would be a "huge money fight" for the pair.

Carl Froch has said that a potential showdown with Bernard Hopkins would be a "huge money fight" for the pair.

Hopkins recently declared his intention to fight 'The Cobra' if the Nottingham fighter can manoeuvre past Mikkel Kessler at the O2 Arena on May 25.

Froch responded by saying that a fight with the legendary Hopkins would do big business at the box office, and admitted it is something that he would relish.

"Hopkins and me would be a huge money fight," Froch told the Daily Mail.

"First I have to focus on beating Kessler but I admire Bernard. He keeps in fantastic condition and would present a very awkward challenge.

"A fight of this magnitude matters more in its own right than the belt."

Hopkins became the oldest world champion in the sport's history when he beat Tavoris Cloud in March.
