Bernard Hopkins admits that he does not want to continue boxing when he reaches his 50th birthday, despite becoming the oldest world champion of all time at 48 years of age.

Bernard Hopkins has revealed that he will retire from boxing before the age of 50.

'The Executioner' made history by becoming the oldest world champion of all time when he beat Tavoris Cloud in New York on Saturday at the age of 48.

However, Hopkins has admitted that he does not foresee himself fighting for another two years and has vowed to hang up his gloves before his 50th birthday on January 15, 2015.

"I won't go on until I am 50, I can't do it," BoxingScene.com quotes Hopkins as saying.

"I am here to stay but not until I am 50. I am a joker sometimes, but I will not be in there (in the ring) at 50 years old."

Hopkins beat Cloud with a points decision at the Barcaly's Centre in Brooklyn.
