BBBofC backs referee's decision to stop Carl Froch, George Groves fight

The British Boxing Board of Control backs referee Howard Foster's decision to stop the fight between Carl Froch and George Groves in Manchester.

British Boxing Board of Control secretary Robert Smith has backed the referee's decision to stop the fight between Carl Froch and George Groves on Saturday night.

Froch retained his IBF and WBA titles in Manchester after Howard Foster controversially stopped the bout in round nine.

"I support his decision all the way," BBC Sport quotes BBBofC secretary Robert Smith as saying.

Groves knocked down Froch in round one of the super middleweight clash.
