Basketball hall of fame star Dennis Rodman has flown back to North Korea in order to help prepare a team for an exhibition game to mark the birthday of controversial leader Kim Jong Un.
Rodman's visit to the country comes directly after the widely reported execution of Kim's uncle and number two official Jang Song Thaek following alleged treachery towards the country.
"I know [Kim] is waiting for me to come back. So hopefully we will have some conversation about some things that's going to help the world," Rodman said of the visit.
"I hope this game brings a lot of countries together, because as I said, sports it is so important to people around the world. So I hope this is going to engage American people, especially (President Barack) Obama, to just to try to talk to them."
Rodman hopes to bring back a roster of 12 American players in January, although no names have been mentioned as to who will feature in the game.
