Report: No Jose Calderon trade imminent

New York Knicks point guard Jose Calderon is expected to stay with the franchise after a trade deal was dismissed for the time being.

New York Knicks veteran Jose Calderon is not expected to be leaving the organisation despite strong interest from around the NBA.

The Los Angeles Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves have been linked with a move, but no trade involving the point guard is imminent, according to ESPN.

Calderon is regarded as an important trade chip for the Knicks, as he is the only player making more than the minimum salary that the franchise can trade without his permission.

The 35-year-old has been linked in a trade deal with the Clippers for Jamal Crawford, but the latest reports suggest that no deal is expected any time soon.
