Miami Heat trade Zoran Dragic to Boston Celtics

The Miami Heat trade guard Zoran Dragic and a second-round pick in the 2020 Draft to the Boston Celtics to ease the burden on their finances for the 2015-16 season.

The Miami Heat have confirmed that they have traded Zoran Dragic and a second-round pick in the 2020 Draft to the Boston Celtics.

The 26-year-old played 10 games for the Heat last season after he was involved in a trade to the club from the Phoenix Suns, which also involved the New Orleans Pelicans.

However, Erik Spoelstra's men have opted to end his tenure with the team by trading him to the Celtics along with the Draft pick, and the Heat will also add cash to the deal to cover the guard's salary.

The deal was motivated by the Heat's desire to ease the burden on their finances, while Boston will send a second-round pick in the 2019 Draft to Miami for Dragic's services.

Dragic averaged 2.2 points per game last season for the Heat.
