Report: Los Angeles Lakers yet to finalise Byron Scott deal

The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly yet to complete a deal with coach Byron Scott, despite him telling reporters that it is "fantastic" to have been appointed.

The Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly denied that Byron Scott has signed a four-year contract to become the team's new coach.

The former Lakers shooting guard was believed to have penned the deal earlier today, with the 53-year-old telling the media that it felt "fantastic" to be appointed to the role.

However, a team source has reportedly told ESPN that the deal has not yet been finalised.

The Lakers need a new coach after Mike D'Antoni resigned following the conclusion of the regular season in April.
