Report: Los Angeles Lakers offer Byron Scott coaching job

Former Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Byron Scott is reportedly discussing a contract to become the team's new head coach.

The Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly asked Byron Scott to become their new head coach.

The team have been looking for a new coach since Mike D'Antoni quit at the end of the regular season in April.

According to ESPN, the team is currently negotiating a contract with the former shooting guard, who won three titles while playing for the Lakers.

Scott is believed to have met with the team three times to interview for the job, but an appointment was delayed to allow the franchise to focus on the Draft and free agency.
