Byron Scott: I'm "perfect guy" for Los Angeles Lakers job

Former Los Angeles Lakers guard Byron Scott believes that he is the "perfect guy" to coach the team.

Byron Scott has said that he would be the "perfect guy" to fill the coaching vacancy at the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers are without a coach following Mike D'Antoni's resignation at the end of the regular season, and started interviewing candidates for the job this week.

The former guard told ESPN: "I don't feel I'm a very arrogant guy, but I feel like I am the perfect guy for this job.

"I got a great relationship with Kobe [Bryant]. I know the team, know the roster. I watched them all season long and I just think it would be a great fit.

"We have to talk about the future of the Los Angeles Lakers. We have to also talk about which type of direction we'll be taking and also talk about the type of game that [Bryant is] going to be playing because he's going to have to change his game a little bit, and I think he knows that."

Scott, who has previously had three head coaching roles in the NBA, has already met with the team.
