Report: Paul Pierce signs three-year deal with Los Angeles Clippers

Paul Pierce reportedly agrees a three-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Paul Pierce has reportedly agreed a three-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.

The 37-year-old became a free agent this week after his deal with the Washington Wizards expired, and the forward immediately emerged as a target for the Clippers, who have already added Lance Stephenson to their roster this summer.

According to ESPN, Pierce will sign a $10.6m (£6.8m) contract with the Clippers to reunite with head coach Doc Rivers after they spent nine years together in Boston and won an NBA title with the Celtics in 2008.

Pierce averaged 11.9 points per game in the regular season before improving to 14.6 points in the playoffs as he helped the Wizards to the Eastern Conference semi-finals in his only year in the capital.

The move will also mark a return to California for the 10-time All-Star, who was born in Oakland and attended Inglewood High School.
