Indiana Pacers forward David West has reportedly opted out of the final year of his contract to test free agency this summer.
West was due $12.6m (£8m) in wages next season, but he is now likely to sign for a new team before the beginning of the new campaign as he prepares for a 13th year in the NBA.
According to the Indianapolis Star, the 34-year-old is aware that he will earn less money at his next club, but he is keen for a fresh start in the latter stages of his career.
West averaged 11.7 points per game last season, his lowest since his second year in the league with New Orleans.
The Pacers are also waiting to hear whether Roy Hibbert will become a free agent ahead of Monday's deadline.
