Golden State Warriors come from behind to beat New Orleans Pelicans

Stephen Curry scores 40 points to lead the Golden State Warriors to victory in overtime after trailing by 20 to the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Golden State Warriors came from 20 points down in regulation to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 123-119 after overtime, extending their first-round playoff series lead to 3-0.

In the first game of the series at the Pelicans' home court, New Orleans were dominant either side of half time, led by Anthony Davis, to put them 20 points in front going into the final 12 minutes.

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson got the Warriors back in contention in the fourth though, resulting in the visitors tying the scores in the final seconds after Davis had missed a free throw.

The Western Conference's top seed looked the stronger of the two sides early in overtime as they tried to complete the turnaround, with Curry adding a three-pointer to open the scoring.

Curry finished with 40 points to ensure that Golden State secured the win, which leaves them just one victory off a place in the Western Conference semi-finals.

The sides meet again at the Smoothie King Center on Saturday.
