Rajon Rondo could play in season opener

Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo suggests that he is a 'nap-time decision' ahead of the season opener against the Brooklyn Nets.

Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has revealed that he could play in the season opener against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night.

Rondo jokingly suggested that the decision will depend on how he feels after he has taken a nap on Wednesday, but coach Brad Stevens revealed that his condition is improving.

"When I wake up from my nap, I'll let [reporters] know. Around 4:30," Rondo told the media.

"If I sleep really, really well tonight, and [Wednesday] afternoon with my nap, I'll let you know how I'm feeling."

The Celtics star suggested on Monday that he was 79% likely to play in the opening game as he looks to fully recover from a broken hand that he sustained in the off-season.

While the medical staff have cleared him to play, Rondo has conceded that he wants to feel comfortable with handling the ball before deciding that he will play.
