The chief executive of Welsh athletics Matt Newman has insisted that there is not a drug problem with his team after Rhys Williams became the second Welshman to fail a drug test ahead of the Commonwealth Games.
Williams was banned earlier on Friday and Gareth Warburton was suspended prior to the start of the Games, but Newman has denied any problems.
"I don't think there is a problem in Welsh athletics," Newman told the South Wales Argus. "We take our responsibility seriously and we have been a clean advocate of a clean sport.
"We have a close relationship with UK athletics and anti-doping agency and made sure there is a comprehensive education in place from the academy athletes up to the international."
Williams is the son of former rugby player JJ Williams.
