Greg Rutherford reaches long jump final in Beijing

Greg Rutherford remains on course to add a world title to his Olympic, European and Commonwealth triumphs after reaching the long jump final in Beijing.

Greg Rutherford has maintained his push to earn a clean sweep of major titles by reaching the long jump final at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing this morning.

The 28-year-old booked his place in Tuesday's showpiece with an 8.25m leap as he remains on course to add to his burgeoning medal haul.

Rutherford is vying to become only the fifth Briton to hold the world, Olympic, European and Commonwealth titles at the same time.

Daley Thompson, Linford Christie, Sally Gunnell and Jonathan Edwards all previously managed the feat.

However, his compatriot Daniel Bramble will not be joining him as he exited the event with a foul on his final jump.
