Eilidh Child, Meghan Beesley reach women's 400m hurdles semi-finals

Great Britain duo Eilidh Child and Meghan Beesley ease into the semi-finals of the women's 400m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing.

Great Britain's Eilidh Child and Meghan Beesley have qualified for the semi-finals of the women's 400m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships.

Child started heat two in a confident fashion and was able to power through the field to ease into the next round of the competition, finishing narrowly behind defending champion Zuzana Hejnova with a time of 54.74s.

Beesley went in the third heat and managed to book her place in the semi-finals as she finished in third place with a time of 54.52s, recording a personal best.

The semi-finals take place on Monday.
