Isobel Pooley "not scared of the big stage"

Great Britian's high jumper Isobel Pooley says that she is not afraid of competing at the upcoming World Championships and Olympic Games.

Team GB high jumper Isobel Pooley has expressed her eagerness to follow up her impressive performance at this year's Commonwealth Games in future major events.

With a jump of 1.92m in Glasgow, 21-year-old Pooley secured herself a silver medal, before she went on to register a leap of 1.96m, which equalled the British record set by Katarina Johnson-Thompson.

Looking ahead to next year's World Championships in Beijing and the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Pooley has insisted that she will head into those competitions with no fear.

"I always go in and do the best I can and maybe get in the mix for a medal and grab it if I get the chance," she told Team GB's official site.

"That was the approach I took at the Commonwealths and I'm absolutely delighted that it worked out. I'm not scared of the big stage anymore, I relish it. I reaped the rewards of all the hard work and devotion I have put in during the year."

Last year, Pooley finished fourth at the European Under-23 Championships in Tampere.
