England's Isobel Pooley "very proud" of her silver

England high jumper Isobel Pooley says that she is immensely proud of herself after beating a personal best to win Commonwealth silver.

England's Isobel Pooley has admitted that she is "very proud" of recording a personal-best leap of 1.92m en route to sealing silver in tonight's high jump final at the Commonwealth Games.

Pooley, 21, recorded a career best to finish behind 18-year-old Australian Eleanor Patterson on the podium in Hampden Park this evening.

Speaking to BBC Sport after the medal ceremony, the Londoner admitted that it "took a lot of confidence" for her to try to beat a personal best on such a big stage.

"I went for it, I lost control and it turned out okay," she said. "The leap took a lot of confidence. I dreamt about being consistent, but my second attempt I am very proud of."

Saint Lucia's Levern Spencer finished with a bronze for the second Games in succession having come third in Delhi four years ago.
